Hi.

My name is Zoe Marshall, I'm an over sharer and media personality.

Club Med Finolhu

Club Med Finolhu

Club Med have created an “exclusive collection”,  and Club Med Finolhu comes under this title- as soon as you arrive you realise why.

Club Med Finolhu Villas is paradise redefined, it prides itself on being eco friendly and sustainable and there are activities such as coral rebuilding excursions and no bottled water to reduce waste, as well as the resort being powered by solar.

It’s located on the private island of Gasfinolhu. This is a more intimate retreat than Club Med Kani. This is adults only so if you can imagine, it’s super romantic.. Come here with your lover not the mates that want to party. There’s even a private 1,000 meter beach for guests only.

There are only 52 Villas at Finolhu and when we arrived a huge group had left and only 7 villas were occupied. I was told by our personal butler (yes everyone is assigned a personal butler) that even when they are at capacity you hardly see anyone around.  It’s vast and private and that’s how they like it.

You would think at first it might be awkward having a butler- but Darrell was awesome. Not too much. He was thoughtful and helpful and it’s really like having your own go-to person rather than speaking to lots of different people on your stay. It’s another personalised touch that adds that element of luxe to your holiday.

The rooms – well the rooms! Are some of the best Benji and I have ever experienced in the WORLD. Complete luxury with an overwater infinity pool that reaches the ocean. Exotic birds, crabs and sting-rays all come to welcome you to your new home away from home.

Club Med Finolhu offers three rooms types- The Sunrise Overwater Villas, Sunset Overwater Villas and The Beach Villas.

We had some fantastic news when we arrived. Lunch and Dinner was to be served in the room- as the resort had only a few guests they thought to treat them  to this experience, which usually occurs a fee.

We dined on fresh seafood and cray-fish, panko covered pork katsu and a Chinese stewed rice. Each dish was more delicious than the last.

There is also a Pool Bar – which Benji and I found ourselves lounging, reading and napping at all afternoon. It serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as champagne by the glass from 6pm. There is afternoon tea served from 4pm and the most scrumptious nutella crepes you have ever tasted. Benji went back for seconds while I tucked into perfect finger sandwiches and sliced fruit.

For those of you wanting a little more action than Benji and I, there’s plenty to do at the resort.  Afternoon yoga, meditation, snorkelling and paddle boarding. There are fantastic cooking classes and a cinema under the stars, which come at no additional cost. Almost everything at Club Med is within their ‘all-inclusive’ package, including drinks and restaurant visits, and most activities.

The truth is Club Med Finolhu is so beautiful you may get lost in her gaze for hours.. It’s the perfect place to stop, breathe and unwind. It makes you appreciate the simplicity of nature and how whole you feel when you are present to it.

I must say it was the most breath taking part of our Maldives trip.

Benji and I plan to go back as soon as possible..

Prices start from -7 nights from $5,685pp in a beach villa, $6,810pp in an overwater villa based on departure 11 Nov 2017.
