8 tips on how to handle life -when it gets tough
When everything seems to go wrong.
It’s the weirdest thing. 1 thing after another things are becoming increasingly testing.
I automatically go into control mode which really means I freak out!
Benj always knows when I am in this state- I do too much. I become a control freak. I micro manage- super fun to be around.
I thought maybe I’m not alone..
So I’ve written my go to when shit hits the fan.
1- Breathe- When I am in a panicked state I hold my breath and shallow breathe. Actually stabilising my breathing grounds me immediately. I know obvious. But I don’t do it naturally so good to practice.
2- Gratitude- your fast track to peace. If everything is going to shit. Focus on your health, a roof over your head. A meal you can eat. Keep it simple and be grateful. Even for your hands or eyes that are reading this. It brings back perspective.
3- Eat- Because food fixes everything. Just balance the comfort stuff with some greens. We don’t need guilt on top of this.
4- Move. Sitting in your funk doesn’t help anyone or your state. Put on some great music. Run, dance around the house, sexy dance in front of the mirror. Moving is massive short cut to freeing yourself from the funk.
5- Talk it out- if these are serious issues. Call a therapist, family, a mate. Sharing the burden helps.
6- Make a plan- This is my life saver. Especially for a do-er. Figure out a way that you can fix the problem. Or at least a plan on how you can come to terms with it if its unfixable (therapy might come in here too)
7- Trust- This too will pass. Sometimes the higher power out there has the best plan that we cant see or understand.
8- Let it go. Frozen style.
